Understanding TraDoc

Supported formats

What TraDoc extracts, previews and reconstructs for each format.

InputFinal outputMain behavior
.epub.epubPreserves the container, reading order, HTML, styles and illustrations as far as the source structure allows.
.pdf.pdfReconstructs a reflowed book with Unicode typography, pagination, metadata and a table of contents when detected.
.docx.docxReplaces translated paragraphs in a copy of the document and preserves untranslated elements.
.md.mdPreserves supported Markdown structure, blocks, headings and markers.
.txt.txtPreserves a UTF-8 text stream and block boundaries.

Partial previews

An incomplete project can be exported after at least one segment has been translated. The server returns the same file type with a name prefixed by apercu_partiel_. Pending portions come from the source when the parser supports it.

PDF specifics

The final PDF is not a pixel-identical layer over the original: TraDoc favors readable editorial reconstruction. Partial previews use a faster strategy. The current download reconstructs a PDF; PDF-to-EPUB conversion is not available in the current version.

Structural limits

Highly graphical documents, complex tables, scans without a text layer, deeply nested footnotes and sophisticated office layouts require manual verification. Always test an excerpt before processing a full book.
