Segment inspector
Compare source and target, understand metadata and resume a project.
The inspector combines a project summary with a segment-by-segment comparison workspace.
Project header
It shows format, task type, model, languages, identifier, glossary, segment size and date. Secondary details can be collapsed on mobile.
Actions
- Resume / Start: starts or resumes translation.
- Pause: requests a controlled stop.
- Export preview: reconstructs a partial file.
- Settings: opens project settings or applies the active configuration when its state allows it.
- Retry failed: resets only the segments that need another attempt.
- Delete project: removes the project and its dedicated files.
Comparison
The source/target panel navigates between segments. Check these first:
- dialogue;
- italics and emphasis;
- glossary names;
- transitions between segments;
- headings and chapter endings.
The inspector is not a layout editor
It validates segmented text. Final formatting must also be checked in a suitable EPUB or PDF reader, or word processor.
